Cyclo-Cross National Championships In the Medals!

It was the perfect start to 2014 for Cyclo-Cross Pro, David Fletcher. Riding on board the new Prototype Polygon Helios CX, Dave showed all of his experience and skill to ride to a 2nd place finsih and a silver medal at the National Cyclo Cross Championships in a mud soaked Derby!

Dave rode a tactically perfect race and was only bested by dedicated Cyclo-Cross expert Ian Field. Dave will now start to turn his attention to the Mountain Bike season, unless he is selected for the World Championships of course, which is now a very real possibility!

It was also a first outting for new signing Rab Wardell, showing great tenacity after only jumping on the new bike that very morning! Rab showed off his skill passing half the field from the back row of the grid and finishing an impressive 26th.

For the reigning National Junior Champion it was not to be though, having led the race around the first turn he was then wiped out by another rider leaving him on the floor in agony as the following riders rode over him. Young Billy Harding, showed courage and determination though as he eventually climbed back onto his bike to ride back up to an incredible 13th position showing that had it not been for the crash he may well have retained his title.
